Created & Separated
God created us in His image in order to love us and have a relationship with us.
Paul wrote, “Before the world was made, God had already chosen us to be his in Christ, so that we would be holy and without fault before him. Because of his love, God had already decided that through Jesus Christ he would bring us to himself as his sons—this was his pleasure and purpose.” Ephesians 1:4-5
But sin separated us from God and broke that relationship leaving a void.
All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
The wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23
The Cross
What Jesus did for us on the cross is the only way our relationship with God can be restored.
He personally carried the load of our sins in his own body when he died on the cross so that we can be finished with sin and live a good life from now on. For his wounds have healed ours! 1 Peter 2:24
This restored relationship with God, forgiveness for our sins, and power to live a life pleasing to Him is available to everyone.
Jesus says, “Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in…” Revelation 3:20
Our Response
Our response to what Jesus has done for us is to admit and confess that we are sinners. But it doesn’t end there! We choose to believe that Jesus died for our sins and that He rose again and is alive today.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from every wrong. 1 John 1:9
If you confess that Jesus is Lord, and you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
We accept God’s gift of salvation and choose to follow Jesus, turning from our previous way of living. This is how we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8, 9
To all who receive him, he gives the right to become children of God. All we need to do is to trust him to save us. All those who believe in this are reborn!—not a physical rebirth…but from the will of God. John 1:12-13
